Jessica’s practice focuses on the tax aspects of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, fund formation, and private equity and venture capital investments.
A former summer associate at the firm, Jessica served as a law clerk at Bay Area Legal Aid in San Jose, California, where she assisted on cases dealing with unlawful detainers, reasonable accommodations, and court debt.
In law school, she participated in the Duke University School of Law’s Start-Up Ventures Clinic, assisting small businesses with incorporation, contract drafting, and nonprofit tax filings.
Prior to her legal career, Jessica worked in a variety of industries. As an undergraduate student, she facilitated campus-wide waste management and educated students on best practices at the Johns Hopkins Office of Recycling in Baltimore, Maryland. Jessica also worked as a grant writer for the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts in Washington, D.C., an organization that supports free education and art therapy programs for cancer patients. Earlier, she served as a talent acquisition intern at Northrop Grumman in El Segundo, California, where she organized intern and new hire orientation activities and served as their human resources contact.
