Paula Ladd advises investment managers, private equity funds, hedge funds, and portfolio companies. She focuses on compliance with anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and other regulatory regimes in connection with onboarding of private investment funds and other entities as required for the negotiation of over-the-counter derivative agreements—frequently working with investment funds and financial institutions throughout North and Latin America, Asia, and Europe to mitigate risk and streamline the onboarding process. Paula also works on matters related to futures, interest rate swaps, and credit default swap account setups, and complex investment and finance transactions.
In addition to her work with derivatives and finance transactions, Paula provides comprehensive legal counsel on the full range of challenges clients face under domestic and European regulatory regimes regarding investor matters, working with clients to efficiently address financial institutions’ compliance requirements. She negotiates with counterparty banks creating and maintaining practical solutions and protocols for compliance with AML, KYC, Common Reporting Standard (CRS), Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s (FinCEN) Customer Due Diligence Rule (CDD Rule), and other compliance regulations to seamlessly integrate compliance into the onboarding process.
