Forbes has named Lowenstein Sandler partner Jean Nicolas “Nick” Samedi Jr. to its inaugural “America’s Best-In-State Lawyers” list for 2025. Samedi, a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate, and Private Equity practices, was recognized for his work in M&A in the State of New Jersey.
Forbes is a global media company that publishes a variety of lists each year ranking a wide range of industries, companies, and individuals. Its “Best-In-State Lawyers” list spotlights U.S. lawyers from a variety of backgrounds and practices who have made an impact in their fields, among their peers and within their communities. Lawyers were selected to the list through a rigorous, multistage process of editorial research and evaluation. Research focused on lawyers’ significant achievements through interviews with industry insiders, nominations and an independent, advisory board of experts. For more information on the selection process, see America’s Best-In-State Lawyers 2025 Methodology.
Samedi represents global and domestic corporations, investment groups, and portfolio companies in public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other complex transactional matters. He represents numerous companies in the consumer goods, beauty, manufacturing, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals industries, among others.
Passionate about pro bono work, Samedi advises nonprofits on corporate governance and cleanup issues, and has assisted on matters ranging from the sale of intellectual property assets to a business restructuring. He also negotiated the merger of several nonprofit entities into Literacy NJ, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating adult illiteracy in New Jersey through individualized instruction and tutoring.
Having worked at the firm since his selection to its LS Scholars Program for his 1L summer, Samedi is deeply involved in Lowenstein’s inclusion programs. He is one of the major drivers of the firm’s recruiting efforts: he co-founded Lowenstein’s Diversity Leadership Network, an employee resource group focused on recruiting, supporting, and promoting diverse attorneys; he is a partner coordinator and partner mentor of the Summer Associate program; and he is active in the Associate Mentoring program.
