Doreen M. Edelman, partner and Chair of Lowenstein’s Global Trade & National Security practice, has been named by TerraLex as one of its 2026 ‘Trailblazing Women.’
TerraLex’s ‘Trailblazing Women’ is a campaign created to honor women leaders within TerraLex member firms worldwide, launched in connection with Women’s History Month. The organization aims to recognize leaders who are making a meaningful impact across the TerraLex network and the legal profession, stating: “These women are driving excellence within their organizations, mentoring the next generation, and strengthening the profession worldwide.”
TerraLex is the elite global legal network committed to collaboration. With over 30 years of experience, TerraLex boasts a vast community of over 23,000 attorneys from highly regarded independent law firms worldwide. It is the strategic partner for multi-jurisdictional entities, offering innovative and forward-thinking solutions beyond conventional legal assistance.
Edelman is ranked in Chambers USA (2025) and Chambers Global (2025) for her Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) work. She is well-known for her in-depth knowledge of trade policy and her years of counseling clients with questions about imports and exports, where she has assisted both large publicly traded companies and small companies with emerging technologies to stay compliant with both the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) import regulations. In addition, her practice includes advice to clients faced with Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions compliance, as well as related M&A deal diligence.
A TerraLex Board member since 2018, Edelman strengthens partnerships across jurisdictions and reinforces TerraLex’s value proposition: independent firms collaborating through trusted relationships in order to deliver seamless, sophisticated service worldwide. She facilitates introductions to align capabilities for complex multi-jurisdictional matters, shares insights on national security trends affecting cross-border deals and operations and promotes co-authored thought leadership that unites perspectives across firms.
