Lowenstein Sandler represented PEN America, a leading free expression advocate for writers, in its acquisition of digital safety and online abuse resource OnlineSOS. PEN America intents to integrate OnlineSOS resources into its online harassment field manual for writers, journalists, artists, and activists who are disproportionately impacted by online abuse.

The acquisition enables both organizations to provide more comprehensive, accessible, and user-friendly guidance to help those abused online protect themselves and continue using their voices. The representation was provided on a pro bono basis as part of Lowenstein’s broader commitment to public interest work.

The Lowenstein team included Meredith Beuchaw, Storme Mckop, Stephanie Stephenson, Manali Joglekar CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT, Kristin V. Taylor, and Megan Monson.
