Pro Bono Immigration Coordinator

Jackie I. Rojas serves as Pro Bono Immigration Coordinator to the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest, working closely with center leadership and attorney teams throughout the firm to support the pro bono immigration practice.  Jackie’s responsibilities include case management and the preparation and filing (under attorney supervision) of immigration petitions/applications, pleadings, motions, briefs in immigration agencies and courts, as well as in state and federal courts.

Jackie has significant immigration experience with such organizations as Legal Services of New Jersey and Human Rights First. As a Department of Justice Partially Accredited Representative, Jackie has represented clients before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officers in asylum cases and in seeking post asylum immigration benefits. She played an instrumental role in the development and execution of the Adults with Children (AWC) program, which assisted hundreds of respondents in finding legal representation for their immigration case at the New York Immigration Court. 

Jackie has an M.A in International Affairs from The New School’s Milano School of International Affairs and earned her B.A in Political Science magna cum laude from Bloomfield College.

She is fluent in Spanish.
