Alexander Brown is a commercial litigator who specializes in representing corporate policyholders in disputes with their insurers. Alex regularly represents policyholders in high-stakes insurance litigation in both state and federal court, and has successfully represented his clients in some of the country’s largest insurance recovery efforts.

When insurance companies refuse to pay claims, Alex counsels his clients in navigating the complex bureaucracy of these mega-corporations, using his deep knowledge of the insurance industry to cut through the red tape and pursue early resolution of disputed claims. When litigation becomes inevitable, Alex works closely with his clients to develop strategies that focus on the actions necessary to win, while avoiding the pitfalls that unnecessarily delay resolution of the disputed claim.

Using this strategy, Alex has obtained significant recoveries for clients in cyber, construction defect, D&O, product liability, commercial property, and professional liability cases. He also has deep experience with a broad range of related coverage issues, including late notice disclaimers, bad faith, and broker liability.

In addition to his insurance recovery work, Alex also represents clients in other commercial contexts, including commercial contract disputes, as well as disputes involving TV and film, music, publishing, and likeness rights.

Prior to entering private practice, Alexander served as a law clerk for the New Jersey Superior Court, Chancery Division.
