Since the publication of the Lowenstein Client Alert sent on Sept. 28, 2018, New York State has extended the deadline to conduct mandatory training from Jan. 1, 2019, to Oct. 9, 2019.
While this extension gives companies some breathing room, the policy deadline of Oct. 9, 2018, is still in place. Based upon feedback and public comment, the state has modified its proposed sample policy and provided other useful information to employers, which can be found here.
