In today's unstable economic environment, layoffs have surged across an array of industries. If the trend continues, 2025 will see companies seeking to streamline their operations to remain competitive in the marketplace.

When doing so, companies are often forced to resort to reductions in force to serve a smaller, restructured company. But when considering a reduction in force, officers and directors must confront the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, Act, which requires employers to provide certain workers 60 days' written notice of plant closings or a mass layoff.
