NJBIZ has included Jonathan C. Wishnia, Managing Partner; Christopher Porrino, partner and Chair of Lowenstein Sandler’s Litigation Department; and the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, Michael R. Caplan, on its 2026 Law Power list.

The publication asks each honoree of what accomplishment they are most proud. Wishnia responds that his proudest professional achievement is “earning the trust and support of my partners to serve as managing partner of Lowenstein Sandler, following my work as co-chair of our Vision 2030 Strategic Plan and as hiring partner. … It is an extraordinary honor to help shape the firm’s next chapter and to build on the momentum created by so many before me.”

Porrino says: “Serving as New Jersey’s 60th attorney general was a tremendous professional privilege. We had the opportunity to save and change lives, fight against religious and other discrimination, hold wrongdoers accountable for their crimes and, perhaps most importantly, make the criminal justice system more balanced through the implementation of bail reform.” He adds: "Continuing to reform sentencing laws as chair of the Criminal Sentencing and Disposition Commission is also a role I view as a privilege, not a job.”

Caplan points to Lowenstein’s growth in size and revenue in 2025, noting: “I’m proudest of driving that growth while staying true to a collaborative, transparent culture.”

All three called AI the most disruptive change in the legal industry in the coming year. Wishnia adds: “At Lowenstein, we view AI three ways: 1, as a tool that augments, rather than replaces, human judgment; 2, as an opportunity to provide new legal services for our clients; and 3, as a way to connect our world-class business professionals with clients confronting their own technological challenges. Firms that distinguish themselves will not simply adopt AI. They will thoughtfully integrate it in ways that create measurable client value.”

Porrino and Caplan were also listed on NJBIZ’s 2024 Law Power list and its 2025 Power List.

The Power lists are compiled by the NJBIZ editorial staff based on reporting throughout the past year with input from experts in a variety of fields and recommendations from our readers. The staff looks for people who have gained public attention – and perhaps acclaim – for their professional accomplishments and public service. Each list identifies individuals who, through their efforts, are helping to make New Jersey a better place to live, work and do business.
