Lowenstein Sandler LLP continues its strategic growth with the hiring of Ivan K. Blumenthal as partner in its Capital Markets & Securities practice. Blumenthal will be based in the firm’s New York City office.

Blumenthal represents underwriters, public and private companies, and investors in a wide range of critical business transactions, including initial and follow-on public offerings, ATM offerings, private investment in public equity (PIPE) transactions, and equity and debt financings. With a focus on companies in the life sciences, consumer products, and technology industries, his clients include foreign and domestic issuers, underwriters, venture capital funds, and angel investors.

Blumenthal also devotes a significant portion of his practice to advising company management, boards of directors, and committees on disclosure, compliance, and corporate governance matters, such as compliance with Securities Act and Exchange Act regulations, fiduciary duties, and codes of conduct obligations; executive compensation issues; special committee matters; and internal controls with respect to SEC disclosure.

Lowenstein’s Managing Partner, Jonathan C. Wishnia, says: "Ivan's arrival is another milestone in the deliberate, sustained growth we're driving across our corporate practices. As companies navigate an increasingly complex capital markets landscape, having a lawyer of Ivan's caliber and experience strengthens our ability to guide clients through their most consequential transactions.”

Steven M. Skolnick, Chair of the firm’s Capital Markets & Securities practice and Vice Chair of its Transactions & Advisory Group, says: “We are very excited to have Ivan as part of our team. His experience with IPOs, PIPES, and other sophisticated financing transactions is complementary with our business and offers great value to our firm’s client base.”

Blumenthal adds: “I’ve had the pleasure of working across the table from Steven and his team for the past 15 years, and I am delighted to now come aboard at Lowenstein. The firm’s platform really works for my practice and will greatly enhance the services I provide to public companies and underwriters, as well as private entities and investors.”

Prior to joining Lowenstein, Blumenthal was a partner at Mintz. He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.A from the State University of New York at Albany.
