Thomas C. Mack has advised on leading-edge innovation in the digital asset and blockchain space for over ten years. Drawing on experience at Goldman Sachs, Gemini Trust Company, and in private practice, he helps clients navigate the novel legal and regulatory issues arising from their businesses in digital assets, blockchain, tokenization, payments, and decentralized finance.

Prior to joining Lowenstein, Thomas served as Vice President and Senior Counsel, Digital Assets, at Goldman Sachs. He also previously served as General Counsel of an Amazon portfolio company focused on tokenization of real-world assets. Earlier, he was Corporate Counsel at Gemini Trust Company, advising on a variety of federal and state regulatory matters associated with stablecoin and custodial digital asset exchange activities.

As outside counsel, Thomas has advised prominent blockchain and digital asset companies on the evolving legal and regulatory framework for their businesses, including federal and state banking regulation, securities law compliance, AML/KYC requirements, and product counseling for decentralized finance platforms. He has handled de novo applications for trust charters covering novel crypto activities, user agreements and contractual frameworks for noncustodial services, as well as associated enforcement matters. His clients have included protocol development teams, foundations supporting layer-one blockchain networks, regulated financial institutions, public companies, and emerging growth businesses in the crypto and fintech space, 

Thomas began his legal career at Sidley Austin LLP, where he handled complex regulatory, white collar, and litigation matters, including matters for early blockchain startups.
