Spencer Kau counsels investors, founders, and management teams of both startups and established companies on a range of transactional corporate matters, including structuring, securities law compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital financings.
While pursuing his J.D. Spencer worked at the Startup Legal Garage at U.C. Hastings College of Law, where he assisted startups with articles of incorporation, restricted stock purchase agreements, capitalization tables, and third-party service and vendor agreements.
Spencer has experience as an intern at a legal technology startup; he was also a Fellow at U.C. Hastings’ Center for Business Law, where he compiled and analyzed data pertaining to Ch.11 bankruptcy cases.
