Serena is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department. She works with investment management and hedge fund clients, in addition to tech start-ups, advising on relevant regulations and assisting them through incorporation to diligence during mergers, acquisitions, and financings.
While in law school, she served as legal extern to the Honorable Stephen B. Jackson, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. She also clerked for the Institute for Justice in Seattle, WA, where she researched issues on property rights, including nationwide civil asset forfeiture laws.
Her pro bono experience includes volunteering with the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence, where she prepared immigration applications and worked with victims and translators to collect evidence for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services petitions.
Serena gained government experience as an intern at the United States Department of Justice’s Criminal Division in Washington, D.C. during college. She also interned with BarclayHedge, LTD, where she recruited hedge fund managers to list with the company’s alternative investment database.
