Roger Smith is a registered patent attorney with over a decade of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, with a focus on advanced technologies in artificial intelligence, computer hardware and software, and medical devices. He advises clients ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies on developing and managing global patent portfolios, addressing subject matter eligibility under 35 U.S.C. § 101, and aligning IP strategy with business goals.

Roger’s work spans a broad range of innovations—from deep learning architectures and natural language processing to AI hardware accelerators and chip designs. With a background in computer science, he collaborates closely with engineers, developers, and product leaders to translate complex technologies into effective patent protection.

In addition to patent drafting and prosecution, Roger counsels clients on patentability, licensing, and strategies to strengthen IP assets in competitive markets.
