Rasmeet represents clients in internal investigations, commercial litigation, and white collar criminal defense matters. Her investigative experience includes reviews of allegations of serious employee misconduct and violations of federal securities laws. She has successfully represented individuals and companies in government investigations, including SEC and state attorneys general investigations.
Rasmeet also has significant experience litigating all phases of bankruptcy matters. That experience encompasses every stage of bankruptcy litigation from investigating potential claims and causes of action through Rule 2004 examinations to commencing adversary proceedings on behalf of liquidating trusts.
Rasmeet also maintains a robust pro bono practice. She represents children seeking asylum and domestic violence victims in their final restraining order proceedings through the firm’s partnerships with Kids in Need of Defense and Partners for Women and Justice. Rasmeet has also successfully secured bond for an immigrant detainee after arguing his bond motion before an immigration court.
Rasmeet is involved in the local South Asian community. She serves on the board of the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey as its Director of Sponsorships and is a member of its Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee.
While in law school, Rasmeet served as executive editor of the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law. She was president of the Michigan Law ACLU Chapter and culture chair of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
She is fluent in Punjabi.
