Lowenstein Sandler mourns the sudden passing of our senior counsel and friend, Norman Spindel, on February 25, 2024.
Starting at Lowenstein in 1986, and with extensive knowledge of transactional and environmental laws particularly as they relate to business in New Jersey, Norman Spindel offered clients clear guidance on the complex environmental regulations governing real estate transactions, business projects, acquisitions, and site remediation.
Norm brought a substantial background in science to his legal work. Trained as a chemical engineer, he had the knowledge and tools necessary to understand the technical requirements underlying environmental compliance issues. With a keen understanding of the mindset and objectives of regulators as he began his legal career in Washington, D.C. during the Environmental Protection Agency's formative years, Norm brought particular value to his clients and colleagues. He will be deeply missed.
