Nancy M. Bello represents lenders, bondholders, unsecured creditors’ committees, corporate fiduciaries, and other stakeholders in distressed situations across a broad range of industries, including energy, healthcare, retail, real estate, and hospitality. Her practice focuses on complex Chapter 11 cases, bankruptcy litigation and contested matters, investigations, liability management transactions, and out-of-court restructurings. She has advised clients on some of the most significant restructuring matters of the past decade, both in court and out-of-court.

Nancy is an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law, where she teaches a bankruptcy writing seminar. She also serves on the inaugural Advisory Board of the St. John’s Center for Bankruptcy Studies and on the Alumni Association of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review, where she leads a student-alumni mentorship program.

Nancy has been named to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 40 Under 40 program, which honors emerging leaders in the insolvency profession who are committed to the highest standards of achievement at work and in their communities.

Nancy is a frequent author and speaker on restructuring and insolvency topics. Her publications have appeared in the Journal of Corporate Renewal, Harvard Law School Bankruptcy Roundtable, Law360, and other industry publications.

Prior to joining Lowenstein, Nancy practiced in the restructuring groups at several major law firms.
