Based in Palo Alto, Jason has spent much of his career embedded in the San Francisco Bay Area startup and venture investor community, advising clients on seed, venture and growth financings, as well as mergers and acquisitions, and serving as general outside corporate counsel in the United States and internationally.
Jason ranks among the best lawyers in California in Venture Capital, according to Chambers USA. Jason serves as outside corporate counsel to venture-backed companies throughout the corporate lifecycle, from pre-seed to financings, commercial transactions, and exits. Drawing on substantial company- and investor-side experience, he advises founders, boards, as well as venture and growth funds, applying his practical understanding of both sides of venture transactions.
Jason also advises venture capital funds and other investors on investments in emerging companies, portfolio company matters, and, in coordination with our Venture Funds Launch Group, fund formation and structuring. His experience includes advising companies and investors on more than 1,000 venture capital financings across the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Israel, Singapore, India, the Cayman Islands, and other jurisdictions. He has also developed strong relationships with venture funds in Germany and elsewhere in Europe.
Jason represents growth companies and venture and strategic investors in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, handling transactions ranging from tuck-in acquisitions and acqui-hires to mergers in the billions of dollars.
Jason has been a San Francisco Bay Area deal lawyer for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Lowenstein, Jason was a partner at Morrison Foerster in San Francisco. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at BraunHagey & Borden and also practiced at Paul Hastings in Palo Alto.
