Lowenstein Sandler’s Michael A. Kaplan received the Partner in Justice award from Partners for Women and Justice (Partners) at their May 2, 2018, “Celebrate Hope” Annual Spring Benefit. Kaplan received the award in recognition of his dedication and commitment to providing pro bono representation of Partners clients. Since 2014, Michael has represented 16 victims of domestic violence in 19 matters involving assault, cyber-harassment, stalking, and sexual assault. This work is part of Lowenstein’s longstanding pro bono initiative led by the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest, which addresses significant social problems and offers meaningful assistance to low-income and other vulnerable persons along with the organizations that advocate for and support them.

As counsel in Lowenstein’s Products Liability & Specialty Torts and White Collar Criminal Defense practices, Kaplan focuses on complex commercial litigation as well as products liability, mass tort, toxic tort, and dram shop cases. He handles civil litigation and appeals in both state and federal courts and has experience with U.S.-based and international arbitrations. Kaplan’s white collar practice includes representing individuals and corporations in matters involving allegations of mail and wire fraud, health care fraud, and tax evasion. He conducts internal investigations and has a strong track record defending entities in investigations and civil proceedings brought by state and federal regulatory authorities.
