Lowenstein Sandler has been named for the third year in a row as one of Crain’s Best Places to Work in New York City. The Crain’s list is an annual ranking of 100 employers that demonstrate a “commitment to creating a supportive, collegial, and empowering workplace.” Of the 100 employers listed, Lowenstein was one of only eight law firms included.

“To be recognized for the third year in a row by Crain’s New York Business as a Best Place to Work in 2020 is especially meaningful, considering the challenges we–like all New York City organizations–have faced this year, said Gary M. Wingens, Lowenstein’s Chair and Managing Partner. “We worked very hard during the pandemic and government-mandated office closures to make sure all of our employees felt safe, valued, and well-equipped to continue providing exceptional legal services to our clients.”

“We are honored to be once again acknowledged as an exemplary employer in the highly competitive New York City market,” said Lowenstein Chief Human Resources Officer Donatella Verrico. “In addition to employee wellness programs, competitive compensation, and diversified benefits, we continue to offer ways for our teams to adapt to 2020’s ‘new normal,’ with enhanced technology, remote events, and support for parents with school-age children.”

Crain's works with Best Companies Group, an independent research company that has been managing employee engagement surveys since 2004, to survey more than 20,000 employees working in the five boroughs on such topics as working conditions, benefits, and corporate culture. The rankings are based on a calculation that involves the weighting of an employee survey (75 percent) and employer questionnaire (25 percent). The ranked companies represent a range of industries, including consulting, engineering, finance, law, and technology.

The numerical rankings for each group will be announced at a virtual event on Thursday, December 3, and published in the Tuesday, December 9 issue of Crain’s New York Business.
