The Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest continues to receive recognition for its consistent pro bono efforts. In addition to being listed among the top 30 law firms included in The American Lawyer’s 2026 Pro Bono Scorecard: National Report. Lowenstein is also one of 33 firms nationwide that will receive a 2026 Beacon of Justice Award from the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, marking the sixth time that the firm has received that honor.
 
NJBIZ  recently called Lowenstein one of the top law firms in the state for pro bono work, citing the firm’s 28,000 hours of pro bono work performed in 2025. Jonathan C. Wishnia, Lowenstein’s Managing Partner and Chair of the firm’s Mortgage & Structured Finance practice, tells the publication: “We are grateful for the many accolades received by the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest, but that’s not why we do this work. Pro bono service is part of Lowenstein’s DNA. It’s baked into how this firm has operated since its founding, and it’s something our attorneys choose to prioritize alongside their other client matters.
