Lowenstein Sandler provided intellectual property counsel to long-time firm client, Bayer on its Heart Health Education Campaign for American Heart Month, designed to highlight the link between sports fandom and heart health.
Through this campaign, Bayer is continuing its ongoing commitment to elevating awareness and education about heart health and risk factors for cardiovascular disease, the No. 1 cause of death in the U.S. for men and women. Bayer Aspirin, as the Official Sponsor of Fans’ Hearts, is encouraging fans and non-fans alike to prioritize their heart health by assessing their risk factors for cardiovascular disease at CheckYourHeartRisks.com.
The campaign, which is slated to run on a national basis and regionally in several markets during the Super Bowl, encompasses ongoing multimedia content, including a film that brings fans back to the heart-pounding moments in sports and tells the story of what fans, and their hearts, have experienced while cheering on their favorite teams.
Lowenstein partners Vanessa A. Ignacio, Chair of the firm’s Trademarks, Copyrights & Trade Secrets practice, and Matt Savare, Chair of Lowenstein’s Commercial Contracts group, Vice Chair of Lowenstein Crypto, counseled Bayer and their advertising agency on all aspects of the campaign’s intellectual property and rights of publicity (including logos, the branding rights of sports leagues, and the persona rights of individuals appearing in the advertising).
Bayer is a global enterprise with core competencies in the life science fields of health care and nutrition. Its products and services are designed to help people and the planet thrive by supporting efforts to master the major challenges presented by a growing and aging global population.
