Lowenstein Sandler announces that Jordana L. Renert has joined the firm as partner in its Bankruptcy & Restructuring Department. She will be based in the firm’s New York office.
Renert’s practice is devoted to helping clients navigate all aspects of financial restructuring by identifying and implementing innovative solutions and strategies aimed at maximizing recovery. She advises clients on all facets of complex Chapter 11 reorganizations, workout proceedings, and corporate trust matters and represents clients ranging from indenture trustees and agents to creditors’ committees, lenders, and debtors.
Renert serves as a trusted advisor to a wide array of clients in the enforcement of creditors’ rights involving secured, unsecured, public, or private debt through her work with indenture trustees, agents, debtor-in-possession lenders, and official committees in Chapter 11 cases. Her restructuring experience spans numerous industries, including health care and hospitals, energy, retail, hospitality, municipal finance, and real estate.
Jeffrey Cohen, partner and Chair of Lowenstein’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Department, says, “Jordana brings to Lowenstein stellar credentials and experience, especially in the representation of indenture trustees and creditors’ committees. Her experience with public bond debt and corporate trust matters will enhance our ability to help our restructuring clients achieve maximum recovery.”
“Lowenstein’s strong reputation in the marketplace, integrated approach across its growing practice groups, and entrepreneurial culture piqued my interest in the firm,” says Renert. “I am excited to be a part of the bankruptcy team, and I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues, not only within the restructuring group, but across the firm’s many related practice areas to further expand and strengthen Lowenstein’s broad restructuring capabilities.”
Before joining Lowenstein, Renert was a partner at an Am Law 200 firm. She is Co-chair of the Business Reorganization Committee of the American Bankruptcy Institute. Renert received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School and her B.A. from Cornell University.
Lowenstein’s bankruptcy practice has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal as one of the country’s top 10 power players in large corporate bankruptcy matters.
