Sandhya represents U.S. and global companies in complex, cross-border pharmaceutical and biotechnology transactions, including IP-related due diligence and licensing agreements in connection with mergers and acquisitions. She works closely with the C-suite to support the commercial structuring of deals as well as the negotiation of strategic alliances and risk management across the life cycle of strategic partnerships.
Sandhya brings to Lowenstein a valuable perspective gained from years of experience as in-house counsel to major technology and life sciences companies. As senior legal counsel for Cognizant Technology Solutions, she worked closely with business teams to assess deal requirements, structure transactions, and develop effective commercialization strategies. Sandhya negotiated agreements and collaborated with multiple stakeholders on matters pertaining to cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, privacy, procurement, tax, insurance, and intellectual property across sectors such as life sciences, health care, insurance, banking and financial services, and manufacturing and logistics.
As in-house corporate and intellectual property counsel at Arysta LifeScience Management Company, LLC, Sandhya advised on contracts, purchasing, patent and trademark licenses, leases, and other commercial agreements, and she provided intellectual property due diligence, licensing analyses, and related support for M&A transactions. She also managed the prosecution, maintenance, defense, and enforcement of the company’s global patent and trademark portfolios in jurisdictions around the world and helped develop policies, processes, and guidance for the optimization of intellectual property assets.
