Michelle represents private and public companies and individuals in connection with government and internal investigations, complex commercial litigation, securities fraud, regulatory compliance, contract disputes, and white-collar criminal defense matters. Michelle also defends parties in regulatory and enforcement actions under state and federal law, including investigations by the United States Department of Justice, the Securities & Exchange Commission, and state attorneys general. Her experience includes investigations involving allegations of accounting and securities fraud, employee misconduct, tax fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, and criminal allegations, as well as bankruptcy investigations and other civil litigation in state and federal courts.
Committed to pro bono work, Michelle was a member of the team that mounted a successful constitutional challenge to the Pentagon’s former transgender service policy, which discharged or denied enlistment to anyone refusing to serve in the gender to which they were assigned at birth or undergoing gender-confirmation procedures.
Prior to joining the firm, Michelle served as a law clerk for both the Hon. Stanley R. Chesler of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Hon. Stuart A. Minkowitz, Assignment Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris/Sussex Vicinages.
