Alaina is a member of The Tech Group and the Corporate practice group; she focuses on transactions for both established and emerging companies, including formation, financing, and mergers and acquisitions. She is a former Lowenstein summer associate.
Alaina has worked at several prominent tech companies. While in law school, she interned in the legal department at TaskRabbit, where she worked on privacy issues and advised on the company’s expansion into France. As a law student she also worked at Airbnb, supporting the company’s Associate General Counsel, Privacy, and Data Protection Officer in implementing compliance with privacy laws such as the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
She has also worked for the technology company OpenGov, where she partnered with government legal and procurement officials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations during the procurement process; while there, she founded Women@OpenGov to promote female-friendly policies in the workplace. Alaina has also worked for Salesforce.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Alaina served as a staffer in the United States House of Representatives, where she worked on issues impacting the technology industry.
Alaina is proficient in French and Spanish. She is the recipient of the UC Hastings Law’s Albert G. Evans Scholarship in Private Enterprise, the Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship, and the Tony Patiño Fellowship, a merit scholarship awarded to law students who demonstrate leadership, a commitment to public service, and outstanding academic and personal achievement.
