Lowenstein Sandler’s report on allegations of physical and emotional abuse in Rutgers University’s softball program, which found inappropriate behavior by coaches and a lack of communication on the part of administrators, is featured in the Associated Press, The New York Times, Star Tribune, ESPN, NJ.com, San Francisco Chronicle, Politico, MSN, and multiple other media outlets. In a subsequent article, NJ.com cites the role of Matthew Boxer, former State Comptroller for New Jersey and now partner and Chair of the firm’s Corporate Investigations & Integrity practice, in leading the investigation, which included interviews with 46 individuals. His report recommends a series of changes to the sports program and school policy, including in areas such as oversight, hiring, student and parent complaints, and revocation of athletic scholarships.
