New York, April 13, 2016 - Lowenstein Sandler LLP announced today that Evan M. Bienstock has joined as a partner in the firm's Tech Group in New York City. Mr. Bienstock joins from Mintz Levin, where he was a member in that firm's corporate and securities section focusing on venture capital and M&A transactions for start-up tech and life sciences companies.

Mr. Bienstock said "Lowenstein Sandler's leadership in the tech sector is well known, and I was drawn to the firm's strategic approach to meeting the needs of entrepreneurs and investors. I've long admired Lowenstein's dominant position in the New York tech industry, its VentureCrush and FirstGrowthVC initiatives, and the firm's work with hundreds of early stage companies as well as scores of established tech companies. That success stems from a strong understanding of the sector and the firm's immersion in the tech community. This is the best platform in New York to grow a successful tech practice."

Mr. Bienstock has nearly 15 years of experience working with investors and companies on venture capital and private equity financings as well as mergers and acquisitions. He is deeply involved in New York's start-up community and has represented clients in digital media, software, life sciences and sustainability. He also regularly provides counsel on daily corporate needs and compliance with securities laws.

Ed Zimmerman, Chair of Lowenstein Sandler's Tech Group, said "Evan is a deeply experienced start-up lawyer who has already made a name for himself in the New York tech community. We look for lawyers who not only know the market but whose commitment to community engagement in tech is self-evident. We love what Evan has done in building relationships at New York's local universities, in his writing and the course on startups he regularly teaches at General Assembly. Of course, our team has been opposite Evan in venture deals so we were well aware of his technical excellence as a lawyer."

Mr. Bienstock received his J.D. from Hofstra University and his B.A. from Colgate University. He is admitted to the New York and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
