Jasper A. Cacananta is an associate in Lowenstein Sandler’s Corporate Department and a member of the Tech Group. As a corporate and venture attorney, Jasper focuses his practice on the representation of entrepreneurs, startups, venture capital funds and private equity firms that launch and invest in disruptive innovations across a broad range of industries. He counsels emerging technology companies in all stages of the startup life cycle, from formation to exit, and provides strategic advice to founders and investors in connection with complex transactions and general corporate matters, including entity choice, capitalization, governance, employment and incentive issues, debt and equity venture financings, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Lowenstein Sandler, Jasper was an associate in the financial services group at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. During law school, Jasper interned for the summer honors law program at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement in New York. He also served on the editorial board of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law and the law school admissions committee. In addition, Jasper was elected president of the law student council and as a class officer and volunteered with the Urban Ventures Project, a Penn Law pro bono initiative committed to engaging underserved youth in entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. Before commencing his legal career, Jasper served as a judicial administration fellow for the Judicial Council of California and worked in the financial and media industries at various for-profit and nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Jasper holds dual undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He also received a Certificate in Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School. Jasper serves as outside counsel and is one of the early members of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of New York. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
