Prior to joining the firm, Benjamin worked at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as part of the Student Honors Program. He examined records of registered investment advisers and companies under the purview of the NY Regional Office. He also interned in the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General.

During law school, Benjamin earned the Bruce David Swerdloff Memorial Award for achievement in corporate taxation. He also distinguished himself in the field of securities regulation, serving as a research assistant to former SEC Commissioner Roberta Karmel.
