Richard J. Corbi is Counsel to Lowenstein Sandler’s Bankruptcy, Financial Reorganization & Creditors’ Rights Department and Specialty Finance Department’s Private Equity Group. Richard focuses his practice on all aspects of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings in both the United States and in cross-border insolvencies. He represents debtors, lenders, creditors’ committees, plan sponsors, private equity funds and other creditors in Chapter 11 bankruptcies and out-of-court restructurings.

Prior to rejoining Lowenstein Sandler, Richard was a bankruptcy associate at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York City.

  • In re Metaldyne Corp. (Bankr. S.D.N.Y.) – Represented HHI Holdings as stalking horse bidder

Significant Creditor Representations

  • In re Lyondell Chemical Co. (Bankr. S.D.N.Y.) – Represented Ares Management LLC, one of the largest senior secured lenders, as a rights offering sponsor of debtors’ chapter 11 plan of reorganization.
  • In re Los Angeles Dodgers, LLC (Bankr. D. Del.) – Represented Major League Baseball
  • In re The Philadelphia Orchestra Association, Inc. (Bankr. E.D. Pa.) – Represented the American Federation of Musicians’ and Employers Pension Fund as the largest creditor of the debtor in connection with litigation involving pension fund liability issues
  • In re Madoff Securities (Bankr. S.D.N.Y.) and (S.D.N.Y.) – Represented multiple defendants in various avoidance action lawsuits commenced by the trustee of the debtors’ estate
