Mr. Wingens succeeds Michael L. Rodburg as Managing Director as part of a planned succession. Mr. Rodburg will retain his position as Chairman of the firm.

The firm’s nationally ranked practices include Specialty Finance, Technology and Venture Capital, Intellectual Property, Investment Management and Bankruptcy. The firm’s white collar criminal defense and securities litigation practices are among the most sophisticated in the region. This January, Lowenstein opened an office in Boston, in addition to its New Jersey and New York offices.
"The evolution of our practice areas, the outstanding recent lateral acquisitions, and our continued growth make this a very exciting time for the firm. I am honored to succeed Michael Rodburg as managing director," said Mr. Wingens. "His guidance has brought the firm to the successful and highly respected position it holds today. We look forward to working together in the future."
Mr. Wingens, who has chaired Lowenstein’s Operating Committee since 2006, is responsible for several strategic initiatives within the firm and is featured among The Best Lawyers in America (2007) for his structured finance practice.
With his broad experience in structured and mortgage finance, Mr. Wingens has represented financial institutions of all sizes, and buyers and sellers in hundreds of billions of dollars of mortgage loan and mortgage servicing-related transactions. He also has substantial experience in providing general corporate counseling and advice, as well as counseling clients in mergers and acquisitions as well as in commercial real estate transactions.
Mr. Wingens is a Trustee of the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey and serves as counsel to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. He served as Board President of Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union counties. He is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D., 1988) and Brandeis University (B.A., 1985).
Among the innovative programs initiated by Mr. Wingens are a "$10,000 Challenge" which in 2007 provided seed money to firm members for innovative solutions to enhance client service and "Lowenstein University," a multi-disciplined, integrated approach to employee education across a broad spectrum of competencies to enhance career and client service skills development throughout the firm.
"These programs are part of Lowenstein’s investment in intellectual capital to advance development at every level, to help further strengthen Lowenstein Sandler as a provider of best-in-class client service and to focus the firm on current and future global trends in the legal industry," said Mr. Wingens.
