Lowenstein Sandler Names Gary Wingens as Managing Director

ROSELAND, NJ, February 14, 2008 – Lowenstein Sandler has announced that Gary M. Wingens was named Managing Director of the firm at its annual shareholders meeting on February 13, 2008. Mr. Wingens heads the firm’s Mortgage Finance practice.
Mr. Wingens succeeds Michael L. Rodburg as Managing Director as part of a planned succession. Mr. Rodburg will retain his position as Chairman of the firm.

The firm’s nationally ranked practices include Specialty Finance, Technology and Venture Capital, Intellectual Property, Investment Management and Bankruptcy. The firm’s white collar criminal defense and securities litigation practices are among the most sophisticated in the region. This January, Lowenstein opened an office in Boston, in addition to its New Jersey and New York offices.

Mr. Wingens, who has chaired Lowenstein’s Operating Committee since 2006, is responsible for several strategic initiatives within the firm and is featured among The Best Lawyers in America (2007) for his structured finance practice.
With his broad experience in structured and mortgage finance, Mr. Wingens has represented financial institutions of all sizes, and buyers and sellers in hundreds of billions of dollars of mortgage loan and mortgage servicing-related transactions. He also has substantial experience in providing general corporate counseling and advice, as well as counseling clients in mergers and acquisitions as well as in commercial real estate transactions.
Mr. Wingens is a Trustee of the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey and serves as counsel to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. He served as Board President of Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union counties. He is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D., 1988) and Brandeis University (B.A., 1985).
Among the innovative programs initiated by Mr. Wingens are a "$10,000 Challenge" which in 2007 provided seed money to firm members for innovative solutions to enhance client service and "Lowenstein University," a multi-disciplined, integrated approach to employee education across a broad spectrum of competencies to enhance career and client service skills development throughout the firm.
