NACUA Meeting
Nicole Bearce Albano
March 2, 2010
New York City Bar Association New York, NY
Nicole Bearce Albano will co-present with Martin Michaelson of Hogan & Hartson on the conflict of interest standards and practices within higher education at the March 2, National Association of College & University Attorneys meeting. The discovery of the $1.1 million dollar salary paid to the president of Stevens Institute of technology has sparked wide spread interest in the governance of the not-for-profit sector. These events lead the Association of Governing Board's to release a statement containing 12 principles for college and university boards of trustees to consider when writing or strengthening institutional conflict of interest policies. Nicole's talk will focus on the recent Association of Governing Board's report on conflict of interest, as well as observations on the Stevens Institute settlement with the Attorney General in New Jersey.
