Lowenstein Sandler and Firm Members Stephen Buckingham, Douglas Eakeley, and David Harris are being honored with the Marilyn Morheuser Humanitarian Award. The award honors Marilyn Morheuser who was an influential litigator of school finance issues. She served as the leading attorney in the case Abbott v. Burke, in which the New Jersey Supreme Court mandated that the state provide funding for poor urban school districts equal to that of the average of the wealthiest districts. The ceremony will take place during "A Wine and Food Tasting Celebrating Public Education." Proceeds benefit the Kids In Concert program, which gives children in urban public schools the opportunity to explore their musical talents, and is hosted by the Education Law Center.
