Elliott Stein is a seasoned litigator who cut his teeth working on some of the most high-profile trials and internal investigations of the past decade. He has experience litigating a broad range of matters, but focuses his practice on capital markets and structured finance litigation, white collar defense, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigation.
Elliott has earned the praise of clients for both his strategic thinking and his attention to detail, and he has earned the respect of his peers for his judgment and professionalism. These qualities allow clients to place their unqualified trust in Elliott, knowing that he works tirelessly to achieve the results they want.
Elliott created and serves as editor of the firm's Structured Finance Litigation blog, a detailed online encyclopedia of developments in the world of structured finance/capital markets litigation, including RMBS and CDO cases, government investigations and related regulatory developments.
A member of the New York Regional Board and the Board of Regents of the American Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Elliott has also volunteered as a mentor in the Legal Outreach program, which prepares urban youth from underserved communities in New York City to compete at high academic levels by using intensive legal and educational programs.
Elliott is active in pro bono matters and recently filed an amicus brief in support of a class of parolees challenging the constitutionality of Proposition 9, a California voter initiative in 2008 that severely abridged parolees' rights to counsel and threatened other parole reforms in California.
