Elise S. Berman is Counsel in the Lowenstein Sandler Employment Law Group.  Her practice focuses primarily on business immigration law as well as employment law.

In the area of immigration law, Ms. Berman represents domestic and multinational employers in obtaining nonimmigrant business visas for executives, professionals, managers, scientists and other individuals with specialized skills and also in obtaining employment-based immigrant visas for professionals and skilled workers through PERM applications filed initially with the U.S. Department of Labor and through priority worker petitions for multinational managers and executives filed directly with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.  Ms. Berman also represents individuals in acquiring U.S. permanent residence based on family-sponsored relationships and in acquiring U.S. citizenship.  In addition, she counsels and represents employers concerning I-9 compliance and investigations and conducts audits.

In the employment law area, Ms. Berman has counseled management concerning personnel issues in workforce reductions, corporate reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions.  She has advised employers concerning employment discrimination, sexual harassment, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, human resources administration and policies, employee handbooks, family and medical leave, and independent contractor matters.
