Dan Roque has spent his career representing financial institutions, corporations, directors, officers and partners in corporate governance disputes and significant securities and commercial matters, such as shareholder derivative actions and partnership disputes. Many of these actions involve allegations of corporate wrongdoing, which have led to internal investigations into complex and high-profile areas, such as structured finance products (for example, CDOs, RMBS and CDSs), stock option backdating and alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He also represents individuals in proceedings initiated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the SEC, the New York District Attorney’s Office and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Dan is particularly proud of his work on significant pro bono matters. In the infamous Palladium case (featured on NBC’s “Dateline”), he and his co-counsel obtained an acquittal on behalf of a defendant who had been incarcerated for 15 years due to a wrongful murder conviction. Dan also has taught introductory legal classes to New York City high school students and represents veterans seeking benefits. He is an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and regularly mentors minority law students.
