Carmen Conring DeMatteis focuses her practice on corporate law, private equity, and merger and acquisitions. She provides a broad range of services to emerging companies and venture capital funds in the technology area. Carmen has represented private companies and venture capital funds in venture capital financings, debt financings, merger and acquisitions, joint ventures and restructurings. Carmen serves as outside general counsel to numerous technology and biotechnology start-up companies and is particularly adept at counseling such companies through all phases of their existence, from their formation and issues arising in their day-to-day operations to their ultimate exit through acquisition. Carmen works tirelessly to understand her clients’ needs and to achieve their business objectives. Carmen's commitment to the legal profession includes working on pro-bono matters. Carmen served as a staff member of the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest from 2010 until 2011, where she was responsible for continuing the Center’s initiatives aimed at strengthening the societal impact of the firm’s pro bono work and where she worked on various corporate pro-bono matters, including merger transactions. Outside the office, Carmen enjoys skiing, hiking and traveling.
