Chair, Real Estate Practice

Ted Hunter is in his element moving the pieces around the table in a complex real estate transaction. He is all about getting the deal closed for his clients, managing the myriad details and focusing on his client’s objectives. In virtually every kind of transaction or dispute involving real property, Ted knows how to get it done. His collaborative, solution-oriented approach is based on the belief that a successful deal leaves both parties satisfied and – just as important – open to doing more business together. It’s an attitude that, not surprisingly, has earned Ted a very loyal client base.

From acquisitions and dispositions to leasing, and from financing and workouts to development, Ted’s experience in commercial real estate is broad and deep. Over the years, Ted has developed distinctive expertise in multistate portfolio transactions and in public-private partnership (P3) deals. As chair of our Real Estate Practice, he brings much-needed strategic guidance to our clients. Regarded by clients as a valued advisor, Ted often finds himself advising on business issues as much as, if not more than, legal issues.

Prior to joining Lowenstein in 2008, Ted was a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP and an associate at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP.

Ted serves on the Board of Trustees of the Elisabeth Morrow School, an independent school in Englewood, New Jersey. Away from the office, Ted can often be found watching his children at an ice rink, sitting on the sideline of a sports field or attending a musical performance. He is a lifelong (some would say long-suffering) Philadelphia Eagles fan and also enjoys hiking, playing sports and traveling with his family. Ted’s dream is to become a history professor when he retires from practicing law.
